I wish that I did not want to go to shul on shabbas. The Green Party presidential debate will be at Busboys & Poets THIS Saturday at 10 am. Cynthia McKinney, Jesse Johnson, Kent Mesplay, Kat Swift and maybe Nader will be there. It looks very cool. But at 10 am, I will be hearing about scaring birds away from nests and G-d turning His face from Moses. Harumph...

Dude - since when do you listen to what the ADL has to say? They hate anyone left of Bush and exaggerate stupid things (eg., Chavez).

I think I'm generally qualified to think critically about what I read and where things I hear are sourced from.

I didn't hear about McKinney's Jew issues from the ADL originally, that was just the first site I found that summarized it.

Also, way to automatically disqualify anything an anti-racist (counter-bigotry?) organization does, just because their current president is right-wing and shoots his mouth off about dumb stuff.

Ok fair. But for real.... the ADL has a generally right-wing agenda, and I'll take what they have to say with more than a grain of salt.
I don't respect them as counter-bigotry. They are against people saying bad things about Jews. They are not counter-bigotry. They also usually go along with the right. They do not work with other "anti-racist" organizations, like the NAACP, or their Muslim and Indian equivalents. Instead, they provide a reason for people to be mad at "Jewish" controls on X or Y. I don't need that.
And the article that was posted accuses McKinney of being allied with the Black Panthers, an organization which I generally respect politically (and they have some members who shoot their mouths off about dumb stuff). If you want to accuse the Black Panthers of being racist, that's arguable. And that discussion isn't separate from McKinney, since she's taking their money, but, I'm not going to agree that they are doing more harm than good. And McKinney did some amazing things in her term in Congress. Check out her record.
