This is an awesome "prayer for our country" that they say at Shira Chadashah in Melbourne (apparently [surprise!] it's a Shira Chadashah Jlem-style synagogue). Anyway, a friend sent it to me and I think it's beautiful!

Bless, oh G-d, our country of Australia and all its inhabitants.

Let us have dreams in this land of long dreams.
Let the hot winds from the desert fire our imagination.
Let the black soil of the plains keep us rooted to the things that matter.

Let the deep waters of our oceans and lakes flow into our hearts giving us depth and understanding.
Let us stand strong and mighty as mountains, and be as gentle as our places of quiet beauty.

May the spirit of this great land enter into the hearts of our leaders and guide them with wisdom and integrity.
L-rd G-d may your spirit and your promise be with the and us always.

...I wonder how it is in Hebrew.

Let the prairie lands provide bread for all its inhabitants.
Let this land of promises and dreams allow us to acheive our dreams and fulfill our promises.

I think I might be too cynical to do this on my own.

I agree that its a beautiful text. Prayers for countries are becoming more emotional and personal as the world changes.
