So last week was good. I decided I needed a week to myself after not having healthy me-time (and feared my lack of ability to have healthy me-time). Soon, my me-time became sick-time when i got some nasty stomach something between Sunday night and Monday morning. Monday I didn't leave bed more than 4 times. Blech... spent Monday and Tuesday not doing much besides lying on my bed moaning, going to the doctor, and drinking liquids and soup. I read through about a chapter of Joshie, so I'm almost done (one chapter left). Wow, that took way too long - I need to be more disciplined. This goes back to my me-time thing, I guess. By Wed I needed to leave my house so I went to work. Exhausted.
Didn't do much for the week, but I did spend shabbat out in College Park with good people. Played frisbee on/in the fountain, ate great food, fell asleep earlyish. Ooh, and I had a very relazed friday afternoon - got home and just hung out with Brian for a few hours (Brian's in town staying with me until his summer place in Petworth opens up). Sat night my stomach was feeling good enough for beer. And smoked some pot with brian. I wasn't so much feeling the various drugs, though. I've been pretty sober for quite some time (had a few beers two weeks ago), and though I don't mind a casual drink during the day, I think that "drinking" as an institution may be getting old. Not that it's something to avoid... just... but this also might help me use that me-time more productively.
(By productive, I don't mean get more done, I just mean, .... healthier? I mean I want to work on making myself better instea of just wasting time)
Sunday hung out with Shosh and friend at the Women's Art Museum which was a really good museum and the company was fun and funny. Shoshana is a good person and clearly attracts fun folk. Then Depeche Mode with Yuling and Brian. Great show! It's so nice to see music outside. This was much different than Indigo Girls or Guster, but great music.
Anyway, this week I have to wash my bedsheets, bring out my dry cleaning and get a haircut. It's fun to have Brian back in town, too.

You sound happy and balanced well. I'm glad. Sorry about the tummy flu, always is so draining. Feel better soon, Miso soup and tofu is very restorative and mellow on sore bellies.
