We planned on leaving by 9:30 and are all set to go by 9:20. I've almost never in my life left earlier than i planned! We were all a bit hungry so we stop at an IHOP in Albany near 87.
I wouldn't have put the directions for such a short drive but for the fact that we were at this one particular IHOP in the middle of friggin' Albany, NY, at the intersection of I-87 and I-90 ready to start the final leg of our journey from 9:30 am until well after 12 pm!!! Yes, almost three hours of our lives were wasted waiting for a table, then food, and then our check because a party of 25 decided to eat at the Albany International House of Pancakes. ARGH!!! It was sooo annoying!!!! Yargh!!!!
Anyway, we eventually got out of there and on to Montréal. The signs on the American side of the border are bilingual. That was cool and unexpected. The signs on the Quebec side of the border, on the other hand, are not bilingual. They are only in French. That was unexpected, but definitely not cool. When the only word anyone in the car can understand on a bright orange sign is "CAUTION," you have problems. Anyway, we eventually got to Adam's hotel safely and parked the car in the garage.
What happens to our heroes in French Canada? Will they survive rue Ste-Catherine? Can they make it to see Mount-Royal or the Basilica de Notre Dame? Will they be eaten alive by the stupidAmerican tourists? Find out next time. Same bat place, Same bat time.
