Hi, people who still read this. I haven't updated in many many months, so I probably owe you all an update.
Here goes. (This is just this weekend. I don't feel like updatign people on the last few years of my life. That requires more attention detail, introspection, and time than I'm willing to commit to)
This last weekend was pretty good. Friday was a really awful day until shabbas. It involved checking the eruv on 4 or so hours of sleep, hitting myself with a hammer, braving wild dogs in the 'hood, hitting myself with the trunk of Dan's car, and practically falling asleep at work. Oh, and then during services this huge electric shock went through my left arm (causing it to twitch), through the siddur and to my right arm. Crazy. But services were pretty electric. I felt good davening although a gymnasium is never the best place for kabbalat shabbat. I also felt strangely popular after shul (I hardly go to DC Minyan anymore, but lots of people came up and said hi who I know from Beit Midrash or other parts of my life). Then I had a good walk with Shoshana and ran into Rachel in the middle of the street freaking out. Oooh, and I almost got hit by a car backing onto the sidewalk! Rachel told him off for me. I was impressed. Thanks!
Shoshana and I headed to Josh's friend's shabbas dinner where "there weren't enough men invited" but it turned out there were more men than women. Especially since the two GW freshmen stayed together the whole night. Anyway, it was a rocking good time and I ate food that was veg but wasn't necessarily kosher... I avoided the cheesy things, though, and mostly ate things I knew were made before shabbas. Anyway, it was a really warm group of people and a good change of pace from a Kesher shabbas meal. I do wish people would bentch together, though. Anyway, Josh and I talked about decompressing from JitW and I got to chill with Mike again who's a great guy and apparently going to law school next year somewhere in New England, so we will say goodbye. Hopefully not before camping, though.
Saturday I was invited to a lunch but slept until about 1pm, so I managed to scrape some stuff together at home. Not the best food. Actually, it wasn't good. I'm not a fan of urad dal. Ah well. Later that night, I did get to see the folks I was going to have lunch with. We went to Kokopooli's to play some pool. I drank a lot and made a bit of a fool of myself. Nothing I'm embarassed about really, and nothing I wouldn't do with closer friends while sober.
Went to Best Buy with Adam Sunday afternoon and then Sunday evening Shoshana and I made an awesome Thai-type meal. noodles and broccoli and coconut milk (from a real coconut!!) and mangos-pb-raspberry sauce. and rosemary potatoes on the side. Delish!
Aright, I guess I'll update a bit more frequently now. I'll try anyway. It's tough when you only have internet access at work.

Date: 2006-02-27 07:33 pm (UTC)I got really drunk on my saturday night too. But then I did things that I probably wouldn't do sober. Probably. But I didn't embarass myself, because it was a Rocky cast party, and nothing embarasses those people! :)
