I thought you couldn't have a handgun in DC

So I was mugged. at gunpoint. In my apartment building (the guy followed me in). I'm shaken, but the only thing the guy took was a cashless wallet with my Metrocard in it. And my license. It's strange that the main problem this causes is that I might not be able to get into any bars Saturday night since my license is gone. Oh, and I need to get a new wallet. And I'm shaken up. Wow. I've never had a gun aimed at me before. And I don't think this guy ever aimed a gun at anyone beofre either. He didn't really seem to know what he was doing, but I wasn't going to take the risk. Once I gave him the wallet, he just stopped for a bit like he didn't know what to do. Anyway, I feel like I'm officially a DC resident now.
Thank G-d I'm alive.

I'm really sorry that happened, and glad to hear you're OK of course. My husband was mugged here in the L.A. suburbs but he was punched in the face, no gun...

I admire you for being so calm about it now.

im glad youre ok too... what skeeves me out about this is, all three people i know well who live in DC proper (DIA friends excluded) have been jumped/mugged at some point. what a weird place--so much politics, federal monkeys, and poverty crammed into one district.

im planning to take kickboxing lessons _when_ i move out there. want to take em with me? lots of chicks and its fun!!!
