So this is my tentative plan for next week. I'm missing the outdoors/ocean time which I badly need.

F-U Boston
M Emily in the morning, DCBM in the evening
T unsure, but travel up to NY. Sleep somewhere in NY.
W Hadar until 1ish, then play with nieces. Sleep in Jersey
R Back into the city for another day of Hadar. Sleep somewhere in NY.
F travel back to DC in the morning and check out the Muppets exhibit at the Smithsonian.
S Shabbat in DC!
U Farmers Market (hopefully with good nightshades)
M Start new job!

hey, you could always study/visit your buddies in Boston area at a beautiful outdoor beach location:
Revere Beach: get off blue line at Wonderland or Revere Beach stops and cross the street and you're at a super-long sandy beach.
if you go back on the street behind RB stn you get to cute Asian neighborhood markets that will sell you a young coconut. i recommend buying one, drilling a hole in its top with a swissarmy knife and drinking it while sitting on the beach. same street has a very sweet historic synagoguge and monument to Jewish War Veterans.
this was our nations first public beach. I'm not just partial to it from living there for 9 months...really. its cool. used to have rollercoasters and arcades/ boardwalk stuff.

oh, there's also beaches along S of Boston area past UMassBoston or something but I dunno it, just drove past.

also- CapeCod is about 1hr by ferry-boat from Boston.

And Salem is right on the water, accessible by commuter rail easily.
