My friend just got back from china. I'm so jealous. I really wish I could've gone with him. Anyway, I managed to find him a tour guide for a bit in Beijing, so that was good. I'm talking to him on IM now. I want to go back very badly..... Now that I'm actually going to keep kashrut, it is difficult, but still doable if I buy all my own stuff and get a kitchen.... man.

well anyway, arctic_alpine and I are going to iceland next summer, so that will be exciting. and it will be my first time travelling while keeping kosher and shabbas (except Israel but that really doesnt count as a challenge)

anyway, that's all for now. this is a jabber post, too, btw

I've heard that driving the highay that encircles the island is very cool. as is the last-name system.

all i heard was that they have so few surnames that the phone book is ordered by first name. (my comp sci professor loved to use this as an example for.... i don't know...alternative sort orders maybe?)
