  1. china:
Like hudreds of millions of other Westerners who have been to this country over the last few centuries, it changed me, though I changed it only minutely. My year there was a very new experience in my life full of anxiety, joy and growth. Seven points
  2. daoism:
The more I learn about Daoism the more I understand my Judaism. There are so many parallels and really helps me to appreciate that whole "One G-d" thing. Six points
  3. halacha:
Jewish law. Obviously important to me whether I'm struggling with it or accepting it easily. Halacha in a bubble, though, is almost meaningless and must be incorporated into a lifestyle of aspiring to G-d and good. Ten points
  4. kang youwei:
Chinese thinker in the late 1800s. One of the first World Federalists. Against the binding of women's feet. Unfortunately, he was a bit racist and also a monarchist. Besides that, though, the world without borders that he envisioned is pretty close to ideal. Seven points
  5. mao zedong:
Ain't no power like the power of the people cuz the power of the people don't stop. Mao did it well.... To insane and murderous ends, but in the start, I really think he was more inspired by good ideas than your average megalomaniac. He definitely was a nationalist, but he was also pretty radical on important issues like land reform. How much more can I say about the last Chinese emperor? Four points (the Cultural Revolution thing kinda wiped out whatever he gained pre-49)
  6. panarchism:
In my mind, this means small (maybe 10-500 families) democratic communes connected into a world government. My general political ideal. Freedom of movement, freedom of thought and freedom from violence would all be guaranteed by the world govt. Ten points
  7. radiohead:
A great band, although I'm not into them as much anymore. Great musically and good politically. Five points
  8. shomer hadamah:
Observing the laws of the earth - the environment, etc. Fundamental to maintaining the planet for generations. Eight points
  9. stanley kubrick:
Incredible director. 2001, Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut, etc. Great movies that you can watch 15 times and still not get everything out of. Really deep dude. Seven points
  10. tikkun olam:
    1. Saving the world in a wishy-washy Jewish hippy kinda way.
    2. Destroying the shards that encase the sparks of holy light spread throughout the world after the sin of Adam in order to bring a unification of the Light created on the First Day.
Both definitions are important to me. Ten points
