Not a new apartment, but a home. Despite all the closed boxes and disassembled furniture and lack of cleaning supplies, my new place really feels like a home. It's nice to have good friends around. It's nice to have a toilet that flushes. It's nice to have a landlord who isn't a slumlord. It's nice to not have a place full of grime. It's nice to not steal internet. It's nice to have rooms! It's nice to have a place where several friends can come over and not have to be in the same room. It's nice to be able to separate myself from people who are in my bed, kitchen, dining room and still be comfortable. It's nice to have friends come over and feel like they are home. It's nice to walk across the bridge (in the windy cold I will change my mind about this one). It's nice to live near SoHo. It's nice to have and answer to the SoHo kashrut rumor. It's nice to have friends who are willing to spend hours and calories helping you move heavy things. I feel highly stressed and exhausted with regard to many things, but hopefully thinking about these nice things will help that. It's also nice to be in a building where the management treats you with a degree of respect (respect being loosely defined as not laughing at you when you have a problem and not suspecting you of being intentionally destructive). It's also really great (but it feels so superficial) to have everyone who comes in say, "Wow! What a great place!"
