Hug Dealing on Dupont Circle

nosockstorock and I were hanging out on Dupont Circle on Monday and a youngish woman walks by with a bright yellow posterboard sign. On the sign was written:

I point to show nosockstorock, who says, "Hey, are you serious?" "Of course," the hug-dealer says. At which point nosockstorock and I get up, walk over, and get our hugs. We look around and there are 10-15 other people lined up to get their free hugs, too. It was very cool and almost magical! Especially for a city like DC where people are pretty removed from strangers. Thank you hug lady! (I wonder what it was for)
